Mark, the owner, is a wonderful auto repair mechanic. He is honest, very skilled and his prices are very reasonable. I live in San Diego County and have had my Mazda Miata serviced here for many years . The Miata now has over 200,000 miles mainly due to Mark's skill. I give Mark my highest recommendation.
Update: once again I asked Mark to diagnose and repair my Miata . It now has 226,000 miles on it. He is great at his craft and the best Miata repair service in SoCal.

Purchased an 05 MX-5 w/ low mileage. I'm still new to the miata scene, but I conducted some research to find a dependable and valuable mechanic, and I came across MD Automotive. I called to schedule an oil change a week ago, but since they are so popular, they had no more openings. As a result, I scheduled one for the following week. I don't live in the OC, but 20 miles away. Took the car in on a Saturday and it only took an hour to perform the oil change. Mark (the owner) provided great services and gave me a great mechanical assessment of my vehicle. I recommend that you go see him as he does service many other import vehicles. But, do call them in advance since they are popular. Will be bringing my vehicle here again for other maintenance services. Thanks.
Nowadays, it is hard to find an honest mechanic who can deliver exceptional quality work, yet at MD Automotive, one can expect not only to receive both of the above qualities, one can rest assured that his/her car is in good hands, that it will be completed in a timely fashion, at a fair price. Had need to bring my Honda Element in for air conditioner work and the automatic/remote door lock.
Again, reasonably priced, work was done quickly and effectively.
Unfortunately we're moving out of state so won't be able to take my car to Mark again, but I hope my grandson does...........
Take care Mark, and I'll be thinking of you as I drive through the deep south later this month.... in my nice and cool car :-)

So, in the last couple of weeks I've spent almost 1200 on various services. Starting with Rear Struts, then transmission service, then after purchasing new tires I asked Mark to replace the front center arm bushing, four wheel alignment and replace the left front motor mount and oil change. All I can say is..............dang..........now I don't need anything else done to my car. It rides and drives like a new car (2004 Element with 194K miles). I don't know a lot but I know if I need ANY work done I'm going to MD Automotive. Mark's a keeper :-)
Mark gave me the BEST service today. I went in for a Dyno baseline test, which another shop was unable to do on my "newer" car. He was fully capable, accommodating of my schedule, ran more than the minimum number of runs so we had pretty charts. The bay was all set up for me when I arrived. He also made me aware of potential trouble spots on my car for me to watch (I am generally a DIY guy). I look forward to having some mechanical need in the future!
My experience with MD Automotive was very good. They got to me in a timely manner and kept me updated by phone. The worker was friendly and knowledgeable. He found the problem and fixed it within a half an hour. The outcome was wonderful.

There is a reason drivers and the Miata Club/Forum recommend and rate Mark so highly. Mark is a truly honest mechanic with extensive knowledge and all of the right equipment for mechanical repairs (and a well maintained garage bay). This is very hard to come by these days as I've talked and dealt with some sneaky shops that were falsely rated high on Yelp and makes me skeptical when calling into places. Mark is above that.
He worked with me, provided options, and completed all my requests and repairs on my ND as his original estimate provided and as promised on the time he would deliver. His price and job were very reasonable and even better quality and cheaper than the dealership, who didn't want to provide much options and wanted to charge more for labor and replacement of another part that I knew was not even necessary to work on.
I even noticed some of the cars he was working with, one of them being from the 24 Hour of LeMons race. Mark has made a loyal customer out of me and I will definitely be coming back if my ND ever needs a time intensive job again. If you are looking for his shop, it is past the Fire Station No. 64 and directly behind the Autohaus Stuttgart sign (you might miss the entrance if you don't pay attention).

I've been going to him for over 30 years now through Honda's, Acura's, Nissans, and even my Chevy Cobalt for over 10 years now and always they run like tops when they've been completed no matter the service. You will not find a more honest and hard working great mechanic anywhere. Even if we moved out of state I'd figure out how to bring my cars in state for service. He's that good folks.

Great first time visit. I'm very pleased with MDs service. As a single mom, I'm always nervous about having my car serviced. I've been taken advantage of by other shops and dealerships because I don't always know how to ask the right questions or use the right words to describe my issue. Mark was informative, friendly and professional. I went in for an oil change and rear tires. Mark literally showed me the underside of my car, pointed out the problem area and the exact cause of the squeaking noises. Straight to the point, honest and very fair prices here. Mark has my future business!
I noticed an issue with my clutch and suspected it to be the master cylinder. I gave Mark a call and he was able to get me in the next day. I decided to go with Mark because I was referred to him by people on Miata forums.
He was able to diagnose the problem and it was the master cylinder. He got a new one in the same day and replaced it quickly. He was even happy to help me roll up my messed up fender for free since the car was going to be up anyways. Quality work with a trustworthy mechanic. I will definitely be taking my Miata back to him for all future maintenance that I cannot do at home.

The owner Mark seemed very professional and legitimate. He's the technician type of owner, not the businessman type, which is good. Finished maintenance to my car in less than an hour: Oil change, check fluids, filters, rotate tires, brake inspections. Mark explained to me several things to know about my car and answered my questions throughly. He also told me about a few services to be done down the road. Bill came out to be $80 (after the $20 new customer discount). Overall very good. Price is not the cheapest but i definitely see the value here. Quick service and clear & crisp process. I inspected fluids, everything is topped at the MAX line - good.

Only as an FYI: The only service they don't provide is tire replacement.

Mark treat me right! He is honest, fair and very reasonable! ?I brought my daughters Honda CRV in for a head gasket, timing belt, and water pump. ?He did a fantastic job!!! ?The car runs fantastic!

I've been to several automotive places and have been robbed due to low knowledge on cars. Coming here it brought back faith as the gentlemen I delt with was very knowledgable and quick. His pricing is responsible and he is quick! I WILL return here as I am very satisfied with what I received. Finally I can go somewhere without getting ripped off. I had my car towed in and it didn't want to start. He had it up and going within 30 mins. Thank you :)

We were referred to MD Automotive by a fellow Automotive Industry Friend. ?We brought my Miata in because another shop had done some repairs and caused total failure to my motor. ?I needed someone i could trust to do the job right and so grateful i was referred to Mark DiBella at MD Automotive.
Mark is patient, understanding, and knows his stuff! ?I had the new motor delivered to his shop and Mark went through both motors completely, using the best parts from both motors, and brought my Miata back to life! ?
Thanks again Mark! ?We will definitely be back with all our Miata needs!
